Run For Your Health

Mother Nature poured drizzles of rain showers but it didn't stop runners from completing the first ever unofficial fun run yesterday, Saturday, from the Petron Station of Prosperidad town to the Provincial Capitol in Patin-ay ending at the residence of former Gov. Valentina Plaza.

Attended by Dr. Lor Pastor with husband Engr. Elvin, OR nurse Sheleen Lorete of the D.O. Plaza Memorial Hospital, Councilor Eric Plaza Mellana of Prosperidad and sister Cristina along with a bevy of other running aficionados and this writer, the runners struggled against lung busting uphills while relaxing on downhills finishing the 10-km distance in 1 hr and 5 min.

They were then treated to a steaming mug of hot coffee and heart warming breakfast at former Governor Plaza's residence in Patin-ay.

The runners agreed to schedule this event on a regular basis, if not weekly.

Tentative schedule for the next fun run will be on April 24th, Saturday at 5:30 am starting at the Petrol Station of Prosperidad town to San Frans Rotunda. Total distance, 14.5 km-- more or less.

Anyone is free to join. The pace is conversational and the company for keeps. You can start at a point where you feel most comfortable finishing the run.

Run for your health!

So lace up those running shoes and see you on the road, my friends!
